On 9 October 2018, SSIET's Recruitment Officer, Paul Bong, conducted an in-class presentation for students taking Mechanics of Structure. The main objective of the presentation was to introduce more Swinburne Sarawak students to SSIET, and share the benefits of becoming a member in SSIET. During the presentation that took place in room B005, Paul was accompanied by other fellow committees, Peter, Jehovah and Edwin.
In the presentation, Paul shared on the benefits of being an SSIET member, such as the access to online resources, privileges in club events, networking opportunities with engineering companies, and an included subscription of monthly IET magazines.
Furthermore, Paul shared on the past events that SSIET had conducted previously, such as Solidworks and AutoCAD workshops, and the Mooncake Festival celebration get-together. The highlight of the sharing was about the SSIET's Present Around The World (PATW) engineering presentation competition, where he shared the opportunity of a Swinburne Sarawak student, Christopher Tan, who had the opportunity to compete in London this November for the global finals. After that, the students were also given a sneak peek of future interesting events that will be conducted by SSIET.
In conclusion, we would like to thank Paul for his lively presentation, and also Mr. Lee for giving us a platform to make this presentation a success. We hope that this presentation has been useful, and that more engineering students in Swinburne can understand the benefits of becoming a member in SSIET.
Come join us and have fun!
