On 19 September 2018, SSIET conducted their new committee meeting Semester 2 2018 which involved new committees reported on duty for 2018-2019. The meeting was led by Mr. Peter Ling. There are about 16 committees elected. Most of them were new bloods.

The cabinet was shrunken and the number of posts were reduced. This is because the new president wanted to reduce unwanted human resources and maintain flexibility of the cabinet. He would consider coming out with more posts if there's a need.
The meeting started with some ice-breaking games, introducing oneself to another.
Later, each committee reported their recent and future activities for the club. The committees although not knowing each other too well, speaking with confidence and loud. Everything was well organised, the way the committees talked and explained things looked so professional. The meeting went on smoothly.
Mr Peter Ling, the new president had spoken clearly on his vision and hope about the club. He is aiming on becoming the best IET on campus in Malaysia. The priority for the club is to recruit more members and instill information about SSIET among the Swinburne students.
Mr Peter Ling also came out with a reporting system. Every committee has to update their task and events weekly so others will know what is going on and keep their events on track.
For the newly elected committees, Mr Peter Ling hoped that they could work well with each other with sincerity, integrity and responsibility. The meeting ended with the committees taking the group photo.
