On 22 February, Swinburne Sarawak IET on Campus was proudly to collaborate with Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne and Nee Shen, Ho from Intel Malaysia to organise a study tour among 20 participants from Sarawak Campus and Melbourne Campus to Intel Technology Sdn Bhd. The students who comprised third-year and forth-year from different engineering background and members of Swinburne Sarawak IET on Campus, were accompanied by Dr. Chua Hong Siang and Dr. Ismat Hijazin. The trip was primarily to expose the students to the latest technology trend: Industry 4.0 and Artificial Intelligence. In addition, students were exposed to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practised by Intel. During the trip, the students learned about the development of Intel’s of Things (IoT) and Smart City.
Participants arrived at the Intel Technology Sdn Bhd by 8:30 am. Mr. Soffi bin Haroon, Intel's officer led the participants to a meeting room and gave a welcoming speech. The event continued with Yeng Liong, a Swinburne Alumni sharing his experienced at Intel.
The presentation followed by Karena, briefing on overview of Intel Malaysia, Malaysia Design Center and Internet of Things. Then, the presentation continued with Harry’s briefing on Artificial Intelligence.
At 11 am, participants had a tour to the Smart City Demo Lab tour. Participants were given an opportunity to view one of the products of Intel - Smart City.
A plaque was presented as a token of appreciation to Mr Nee Shen Ho and Intel’s staffs.
