Introduction to SolidWorks Workshop

Swinburne Sarawak IET on Campus had organized a technical workshop about the fundamentals uses of well-known CAD modelling software, SolidWorks. The event covered up several topics to fulfil the objectives by:

• Introducing the essential SolidWorks for 3D Design, Intuitive User Interface and Design Unit System and Drafting Standards.

• Introducing some key techniques and tools to design a part.

• Combining the part design into 3D assemblies

• Exploring other features like create a part or assembly drawings from 3D designs.

The organizing chairperson invited Lee Zhe Wei, the president of the SSIET, who had almost 4 years of experience in the SolidWorks software.

There were 16 participants joined the event which included 4 committee from SSIET, 4 IET members and 8 non-IET members in total.
