Swinburne Sarawak IET On Campus organised a community service event for the students from SK Salak, a national primary school. This visit was the second phase of the community service project where the team organised a Pitching and Presentation Workshop. The event aimed to improve the students’ presentation and pitching skills so that they are able to pitch professionally and confidently in future whilst engaging fully with the audience.
The workshop divided into two sessions, where the first session conducted by Mr. Michael Wong, the organising chairperson of the project, on the topic “How to build confident on pitching”. The second session was conducted by Mr. Jehovah Yii, the runner-up of Present Around The World Swinburne Final, on the topic “Pitching an idea”.
The event followed by dividing the students into group of three members. The students were given a few topics to choose as they had to present their idea based on the topic chosen. The students were given an hour to prepare.
After the presentations, the results of the winner were announced and rewarded. The Pitching and Presentation Skills Workshop was conducted successfully as the students learnt to think of the ideas on the given topics and also managed to present their ideas in front of all the people. It is important for the students to start this early so that they will have more experience and confidence when presenting their projects or ideas in front of people.
